September 2018

We’ve had a busy first month since starting back at school on the 29th of August.

Junior Infants
We were excited to welcome our four new Junior Infants; Leah, Niamh, Jayden F. and Jayden D. They’ve been very busy during their first month, getting used to our Aistear areas and starting their new books and copies.
The other pupils in the junior room have been a great help to our new people, making sure they have friends and a helping hand during Aistear and at lunch time. It’s all very exciting and we look forward to a busy and fun year ahead.

Student Council & Amber Flag
On 11th of September 2018, Scoil Naomh Treasa held its first annual student’s council election. Alex, Skye, Ryan and Amy were elected from the Senior Classroom while Gleb and Abi from the Junior Classroom were selected by their peers to form a committee which aims to empower the voice of our pupils.
One of the primary responsibilities of the Student council will be the Amber Flag; an initiative which we hope will promote positive mental health among the pupils of Scoil Naomh Treasa during the 2018/2019 school year.

Green Flag
In addition to the teaching and learning taking place, we have also started working on obtaining our first green flag for Litter and Waste. We are currently engaging in the environmental review stage. Although the Senior Classroom will form the green committee, all pupils will be encouraged to participate in the initiative and do their part to make our school a cleaner place.

Our wonderful Staff
We would also like to welcome two new members to our staff; Catherine and Josh. They have been fantastic additions so far!
A special mention must also be given to our Michael, our caretaker. During the summer, he painted our hall and printed our new school crest in the entrance hallway. It looks amazing!
