October 2019

October was a busy month in Scoil Naomh Treasa. We elected our new student council, pictured above. These are very important people in our school community as they are the ones who speak up for us all, their great ideas along with all of our hard work will also hopefully help us to retain our Amber Flag this year.
At the first student council meeting we discussed our fundraiser for pieta house, after a long chat we decided to give our parents a chance to shine. For that reason, we had a ‘Crazy Hair Talent Share’ during our mental health week in October. We had great fun showing off our own talents and singing while some parents and family members joined us in the school hall to teach us some of their own special talents. It was a great day full of fun, laughter and arts and crafts.
The senior classes had a fantastic time at the World Cup themed rugby blitz organised by Athy Rugby club. Our school were asked to represent Japan and we spent the weeks before researching the country and the culture. We had great fun and represented Japan well with our fighting spirit.
Of course we finished off for Halloween break with our spooky fancy dress party. We had a fancy dress parade, party games, enjoyed some Halloween art and relaxed with a spooky film and some popcorn. A well-earned reward after a busy few weeks!
