The pupils in the Senior Room treated the whole school to some very interesting and entertaining debates on Friday, the 31st of May 2019. The debates coincided with the work that we are currently doing on the Persuasive Writing Genre. The 5th & 6th class girls took on the 5th and 6th class boys. They debated the following topics: Should pets be allowed in schools? Computers should replace teachers. Friends.

During the Month of May, the pupils in the Senior Classroom explored the genre of Persuasive Writing. Their final task was to write a letter persuading prospective pupils and parents to come to Scoil Naomh Treasa. On the 15th of January 2019, we started a new writing genre, Procedural Writing. On Wednesday, the 10th of October 2018, the school took part in the Great Headbomz assembly to mark World Mental Health Day. Each pupil wore rainbow colours and donated €2 towards the Amber Flag Initiative. On the day, the children took place in activities which supported a positive mind and body.
